Website Marketing – If you just got your site up and running, it is time to begin marketing your site . There are so many different ways to go about this task . You can start from within the pages of your site. You want to achieve a good index rank when the search engine spiders come and crawl your site. So you can begin marketing your site through your meta tags . By using the meta keyword tag, you are specifically introducing pages into the search engines. Bots will pick these up as long as you don’t overstuff the tags. Another way to market your site is to write a page title . For each of your web pages try writing a few words and add them your pages. The bots will check out the URL as well what is in the site.
If you are using many keywords , make sure that you add a keyword or two in the first paragraph of your home page. It is recommended that you only use your keyword only 5 percent of the amount of words that are your page. Also try using the keywords in your hyperlinks, the bots will pick that up as a link. When using other links on your site, bots like to see that the links pertain to your site and you are not linking to other sites or others are not linking to you for the heck of it.
When you link to other sites you can request reciprocal links as well. You may be able to find free sites that are more than happy to give you a reciprocal link. Try finding a site that gets as much traffic as you do. When you approach certain sites who’s content is similar to your own, then tend not want to trade with you but they don’t understand it could be beneficial to both of your sites.
You also want to enter your page URL to the search engines. Take your home page URL and submit them to the search engine that sends out the bots. Find a link that says Add your URL. Google, Yahoo, MSN and AOL are the most popular search engines in the United States. Don’t try to hide pages from the bots. Some times there are some pages that you just don’t want to have come up in a search but try to get as many into the search than not.
Another way to market your site is to enter your site into a directory. Choose the directory that has a lot of traffic and submit your site . There are free directories, paid directories and bidding directories. Choose one or choose them all, you want to get as much exposure as you can. By placing your site in a directory you are gaining a lot of exposure and soon enough you will see the fruits of your labor. It takes money to make money.
If you have a product site and offer services as well, a good idea is to add your URL to your business cards . If you are creating flyers, add your site to the flyer. The more people see the URL the more traffic you are going to get. Some sites are a product of a brick and mortar business. Try offering free promotions . Try publishing a newsletter via e-mail. It keeps your customers aware of what is happening with the company as well has what is happening online. You will increase your rate of traffic this way, which is the ultimate goal of having your site to begin with.
